You may have noticed I've added a photo of me talking on the phone. I suppose you can picture me like this while you read my posts, but it would be more realistic to picture someone sitting on a couch wrapped up in either a Star Wars blanket or a pink Snuggie.
I decided to give Aaron pinup photos for Christmas this year.... (Photos of me, of course!) I actually thought of doing it last year, but ran out of time. (One might joke this is a bigger gift to me than it is to Aaron, but I digress.) So one Saturday this fall, I underwent 5 hours, 8 costume changes, and 2 extra large Tim Horton's coffees and did one massive shoot, photographed by my longtime friend, Shanaz Pasha. (Checkout her work at http://lithiumdoll.blogspot.com/!) I was glad to have her take them - I don't want just anyone checking out my bare ass through fishnets. The experience was a lot more intense than I expected. Modeling is not easy! It was difficult to hold some poses, balance in too small stilettos and by the end of the shoot, my face had forgotten how to wink. My muscles were sore for days. All in all, they turned out really well and I think Aaron liked them. My hope is that at least one photo makes it to his desk at work.
I also changed the template for my blog. I haven't written much since I started it back in 2009. (Ouch...) I think I was too concerned with how I had my layout instead of actually using it to WRITE... That's what a blog is supposed to be right? So, now it will be this plain pink background (which looks really great with the Firefox cupcake skin I downloaded!)
Okay, since I never even got around to it last year, let's write these new years resolutions down... Goals... Hmmm.... Okay, start big, then break it down into smaller bits: I want to slim down... I want to eat more nutritiously... I want to be more organized... I want to keep up with school... I want to do well at school... I want to do better at my job. Essentially, I want to stay on top of all aspects of my life.
Overall, the University of Calgary is an awesome place to work. There are tremendous benefits of being a full-time staff member there. Here are my favourites:
Free education - 4 classes paid a year! I'm finally working on my degree. (Better late than never, right?)
I get to workout at a great gym on my lunch break... Without having to go outdoors. My lunch hours are spent either in class or at the gym.
On-site counselor! Seriously! Need a good cry? Book a free shoulder!
The point is, I like my job and I want to do well at it... And if that means I have to get my degree a little slower than I would like, but not lose my sanity and continue to perform well at work, then that's what it means. It's 15 minutes from home and it's close to ideal. I guess I just decided I'm only taking one class next semester in order to be able to have time for working out, studying, grocery shopping and.... wait for it, Aaron..... Cooking! (I am a really spoiled girlfriend... I rarely cook.)
Hey, did anyone see this Strange Addictions show on TLC last night? Some woman was addicted to sleeping with her blow dryer and the other person was addicted to eating toilet paper. Is it bad that I couldn't stop laughing at these people? Isn't it obvious that a blow dryer is a substitute for a human being? She wants to share her bed with another person? I don't know what to say about the TP eater though... That's a toughie...

too long; didn't read
