I can't believe it! I won my family's gingerbread house competition this year! Aaron won in both of the contest's two previous years and he had been planning this year's design since he won last year. Though his Presents in the Snow design came close to winning this year and picked up second place, it was my very own Christmas at the Cabin design, which took first.
I said it in my victory speech and I'll say it again. I went into the competition with no real plan, strategy or expectation to win. I managed to turn shreddies into shingles, pretzels into logs and marshmallows into fluffy snow.
