While I am extremely happy for Jami, I am also happy that I will finally get to be a bridesmaid!!! You'd probably think that this happened recently because of amount of exclamation points I'm using in this post, but no... It happened in August... While they were on a beach... In the South of France.... Sigh... How perfect is that? Seriously... Nice work, Jordan. You gave my little sister a marriage proposal she'll always remember and be excited to tell people all about! Congratulations to you both!
Anyway, I guess I thought about it because we are in the dress selection phase. We are all checking out dresses online and voting via replying to all on facebook messages. (In fact, that's what I'm supposed to be doing right now.) It's funny that in the dress selection process, we haven't even been to a store yet. (Note to self: Be a good bridesmaid; organize dress shopping excursion with family & friends (à la Say Yes to the Dress,) but it's just funny that there are so many online options these days. Real or knockoff, new or used, there are a LOT of dresses to choose from... For Jami first, of course, but also for Marni & me as bridesmaids. (!!!) It's one of the exciting parts - getting to wear an awesome dress! I wish I had more occasions to wear party dresses and cocktail dresses. Please, people! Have more parties! Maybe I'll plan some sort of upscale-dress birthday party this year. I'm turning 29! It's like a mini 30th birthday. It's when you begin the process of saying goodbye to your 20s, right? I've had an amazing decade! Some crazy things happened in my 20s. I've lived a lot and I feel like I've become a completely different person than I was 10 years ago. I feel like I've finally grown up.
Coming back from a tangent, as a bridesmaid, there are things I must do. For anyone who has done this before, I welcome your tips!
I think I'll start including a section on my posts from time to time called Another Reason my Boyfriend is Awesome. Here, let me cap off the post with it tonight.
